We are Alma Salgada, a duo of visual artists who transform botany and elements of urban art into vibrant compositions. Our work is born from the interplay of flowers, colors, and textures, expanding the energy of nature onto canvases, murals, and architectural spaces.
Over time, we have cultivated a signature language we call Pop Art Botany. It emerges from intense colors, organic structures, and the spontaneous energy of street art. Flowers, foliage, and botanical fragments from different parts of the world become visual protagonists, not as mere representations of nature but as symbols of resilience, vitality, and emotional memory.
Our creative process combines traditional and experimental techniques. Layers of acrylic paint, spray textures, airbrush gradients, gesso reliefs, and hand-stitched embroidery build depth and tactility, turning each piece into a multisensory landscape. These textures invite the viewer to slow down and perceive the delicate dialogue between chaos and harmony, precision and spontaneity.
Botany is our endless source of meaning. Plants reveal how life insists, adapts, and transforms. Through them, we explore themes of belonging, healing, movement, and identity. Even within urban environments, nature finds unexpected ways to claim space, and this quiet strength guides our work.
Vibrant color plays a central role in our compositions. Saturated palettes are known to stimulate the brain and activate endorphins, bringing sensations of joy, presence, and a subtle emotional uplift. We use color intentionally, creating works that not only captivate visually but also transform the emotional atmosphere of a space.
Today, based in Europe, we continue to develop our botanical and urban aesthetic across new scales and contexts. Our focus is to create artworks that transform spaces, evoke sensation, and bring people closer to the poetic force present in the natural world.
